Dream

Image
Last night I dreamt I flew somewhere, possibly Nova Scotia.  I went to a Bingo game.  Seated at the end of the front row of seats was Georgina, Joe's X. There was a young girl there, she had a new born baby with her.  The baby was so cute, and the girl was nice.  I think this was still in the Bingo hall. Then I heard that Joe had met her and was taking care of her.   Suddenly, from around the corner, Joe appeared.  I was very happy to see him.  He beckoned to me, and I dropped everything and went to see him. The end of the dream happened as I turned the corner. He appeared to be so alive, so present, as he beckoned me. I miss him so much.

Rammstein's Revenge

So, the woman upstairs began her singing again tonight.  Another song I hate, likely from the 70s or thereabouts.  I forget the name. I opened my windows, and blasted Rammstein via the TV.  Pretty sure they heard it, her yowling has stopped. Am I inviting trouble?  I don't really gaf.  It won't be long before their true natures come out, no matter how friendly they  appear to be.   And Rammstein makes me feel good. Maybe its the feeling of vertigo that is affecting me, or maybe its the pounding on my ceiling. Swear to god, if an upper/outer apartment becomes available, I'll give serious consideration to moving into it.  Anything to get rid of the ceiling sounds. Whatever, where there's a will, there's a way.

New Neighbors

Happy First day of August.  Slowly crawling towards better weather. Met my new neighbors today.  They seemed nice.  Nice young woman, her man and the man's father.  They all said their names and shook my hand.  I was on my way over to Brad and Jamies. Brad was outside, and I said, nice people moving in above me. But later, in the house, Brad divulged that they had been living in the  W...L... Motel, and they were recovering druggies. AHHHH, I know when Lois (who showed them the apartment) she said they'd been living in a motel, I was suspicious and I asked why.  Lois told me that they had sold their house and the deal closed quickly.  Yeah, right. They would have paid their first and last months rent, but that was likely covered by social services or something like that.  No mention of the man having a job, but the woman is apparently going for her masters degree in psychology, and will begin working at Windy Lake Motel.  This las...

Entertainment at 55

Here in this building, I am continually entertained.  This happened yesterday. I was sitting outside on my deck, in my chair.  I noticed movement from the upstairs, apartment #3 - Trash Woman.  An unknown male was shuffling trash bags around, arranging them so to speak. Then he began to come down the stairs.  I murmured hello as he moved near me, he didn't seem to hear.  His mouth was moving in the way that some cocaine heads move their mouths.  This is known as Coke jaw.  I learned about this condition through Joe, who had some knowledge of drugs, lol. Anyway, as the male moved by me, and headed down the stairs to the ground, I saw the crack of his rear end, a sight I cannot unsee.  Because it was a larger view than your standard tiny bit of crack showing.   His shorts were hanging fairly low, and other than the shorts, he was unclothed. He went to the ground and proceeded towards the bins on the property, garbage and recycle.  I d...

Name Change

I   asked the internet whether the name Lent was descended from Van Lent or Ryker.  I knew this information came from records I have from Francis Lent. I have considered going to the name Van Lent.  I think it sounds better than short, plain Lent. The Lent surname was originally Van Lent (or van Lent ) , derived from the village of Lent in Gelderland, Netherlands. [ 1 , 2 ] However, the Lent family is deeply intertwined with the Rycken / Riker lineage. [ 1 ] The Progenitor: The family patriarch, Abraham Rycken , immigrated from Amsterdam to New Netherland (New York) around 1638. The "Van Lent" Connection: In 1661, his full name was documented as Abraham Rycken Van Lent . The Name Change: Following his arrival in America, some of his descendants dropped the Rycken name entirely and officially adopted Van Lent (which later shortened to just Lent ), while other descendants became known as Riker

Cooling down

Image
First time I've seen it cool down in July.  Here's todays news and weather. 13 degrees out there, its beautiful. Yesterday I mentioned Jamie's garden.    The pictures are first one is zucchini, second is tomatoes, next is a pumpkin, carrots, some kind of climbing beans, sunflowers and corn. They still have a way to go and grow.  But its amazing because the gardens are only 2 small spaces. I watched a movie last night, don't know the name.  That's because it didn't have a name.  I'm telling you, on You Tube, titles can be off anyway.  They will change movie names now and then.  But this no name movie was actually pretty good, it was a winter survival story.  I think the makers of this movie were influenced by  Dyatlov Pass incident, something which took place in Russia many years ago.  Anyway, the movie features 4 friends who decide to trek into the woods in winter.  Unknown actors, but they were actually pretty believable...

Hell Month

Image
It almost mid July, or as I like to call it, Hell Month.  We're in the midst of a heat wave.  When I woke up this morning, the sky looked almost overcast, but with a strange yellow hue.  I figure its the humidity, getting ready to kill us. I hate summer, and July is Hell Month for me.

babysitting the kids

I had a great morning with the kids.  First quite early, Joe came downstairs and laid down with me.  So cute.  Later, we went outside, but very briefly, as Hannah was still sleeping. When the sleepy girl woke up, they had breakfast.  I had a coffee and a kiwi. then we all went out again (still coolish out there) and walked over to first Joyce's place, where I fed the cat and they meandered around, tried to pet it.  Then over to my place, then back to theirs. Went back inside, after a bit had some lunch, and everyone was relaxing when Brad came home.   He brought home food and drinks that everyone would like so it was all good. I'm now back home, and waiting for the post office to open up (they're on lunch) so I can mail some goodies.

Save the Rats (a satire)

Recently two neighbors in the Minnow Lake area complained about the number of rats they'd noticed in their area.  They made the news.  Well, they've had their 15 minutes of fame, but what about the rats? Rats are well known to mankind, but they are rarely seen in a good light.  However, they are living beings, and as such we must steward them. If we take the time to know them, we will realize that they are gentle creatures, full of fun.  Due to their smaller size, they make good house pets, with minimal grooming and feeding needs.  So, could you take a rat into your home?  Ask yourself these questions. Do I have other pets (cats or dogs)?  If so, some revisions may be necessary. Do I have or can I buy Tooth growth stunters?  Rats continue to grow their teeth all their lives.  While you can buy the commercial growth inhibitors, a good block of cement will take care of the matter, and is more cost effective. Do I have a climate controlle...

the start of the heat wave

Image
Good morning people We stand on the precipice of a heat wave.  Only about 25 today, but climbing all week.  Oh, the joy I feel, lol. I've just bought a doll.  Why did I do this?  I decided to treat myself.  It seems like I do a lot for others, I deserve a break.  I've attached a photo.   I won't say the price, but the doll is reasonable. *************************************************** Here's an interesting piece of journalism, just came in. (from the national Post) On May 5, the French Senate passed a bill to combat Islamist entryism/infiltration in France by a vote of 208-124. The bill is a direct response to a 2025 government report titled, Muslim Brotherhood and Political Islamism in France , which found that 139 Muslim places of worship are affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. *********************************************************** Becks, I haven't seen much in the way of solving the problem that you focused on in your tik t...
